Daintree

A place of light and shadow

As you journey towards the cape where the rainforest meets the reef you will enter a biodiverse tapestry of life and leaf. Where the wildlife silently shifts and weaves in an eternal game of hide and seek. Woven from a primordial palette, the wet tropics glisten brown and green. Torrents of water snake through the landscape - their spillage carving out waterfalls and waterholes as they journey towards the estuaries beneath. Far beyond these river mouths, just below the offing, another universe can be seen. Its colourful inhabitants prevail in a salty world, bound by the moon and tides in a continuous rhythm of ebb and flow.

Daintree

Surrounded by an evergreen collage of leaves, vines and bracken, bright beams of sunlight appear sliced and stencilled through the tree trunks, layering light and shadow across the leaf littered floor.

We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one.”

Cascades

Lying quiet and still the boulders have long since worn smooth as the crystal clear water continues to sculpt them slowly over time.

Reef

Beyond the shallows, a coral world brimming with life lies hidden below a sea forever awash in marine blues and foamy whites.

Afterlight

A homage to the dreamlike world that appears before each night, revealed by the passage of the day’s fallen light.
