The Windfall Collection

Drifting leaf confetti gently marks the turning point of the season. In one last act, both celebratory and defiant, the snow gums explode - their vividly coloured trunks dappling the stark landscape before the crisp tones of winter grey settle in.

This collection is intended as a small reminder to chase those fleeting moments of seasonal change, experience colours that leave almost as they arrive and view areas outside their summertime prime. Sometimes all you need is the smallest nudge to break free and drive into the wild, wherever and however wild that may be.

The Snow Gums

Drifting leaf confetti gently marks the turning point of the season. In one last act, both celebratory and defiant, the snow gums explode - their vividly coloured trunks dappling the stark landscape before the crisp tones of winter grey settle in.

All pieces are hand thrown using iron heavy Australian stoneware clays and slipped with wild clay harvested from the Australian Snowy Mountains. Each piece is glazed in a grey shino that has a tendency to trap carbon during the reduction firing and creates a lovely rich canvas that ranges from sunburnt reds, smokey greys and silky whites that appear to hold the fluxed iron particles in different layers of glass.

Botanical Studies: Silver Dollar

The Silver Dollar is a native gumtree which prefers the colder regions of Australia. Often seen in the windows and bouquets of florist shops, they are popular for floral art due to their silvery blue-green circular aesthetic. The Alpine koala population are also fond of these aromatic leaves…more as a snack though than home decoration.
